2010 Kelowna Airport Development and Expansion

Kelowna International Airport is in process of implementing 2010 Development plan. Check out some highlights of the development plan:

Increasing the length of the runway to 8900 ft from its current 7300 ft.
250 passengers per hour international concourse.
Expansion of the parking stalls.
To construct new international arrivals area to access international markets.
Expanded Departure room.
Expanded baggage handling capacity.

In 2007, the Kelowna aiport handled direct flights from Kelowna to Mexico and these flights will continue until March 29th 2008. These flights were introduced by Sunquest and Transat holidays. See the details at Sunquest or Transat Holidays:

Kelowna to Cancun and The Mayan Riviera ( 22nd Dec 2007- 29th Mar 2008- every Saturday)
Kelowna to Puerto Vallarta ( 21st Dec 2007-Mar 29 2008- every Friday/Saturday)
Kelowna to Los Cabos ( 21st Dec 2007- Mar 28 2008- every Friday)

If you haven't taken advantage of these flights from Kelowna, then plan your winter getaway before the season ends. Hopefully with the expansion of the Kelowna airport Kelowna residents will be able to enjoy direct flights to exotic locations.
