A meal at Wild Apple Grill, Kelowna

My husband, Manoj took me to 'Wild Apple Grill' for Valentine's day dinner. I had never been to Wild Apple Grill before so I was very excited about this dinner. Wild Apple Grill is located in Manteo resort ( Kelowna's premier lakefront Hotel and resort) which is situated on 3762 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna, British Columbia. Telephone: (250) 860-1031

We ordered Tandoori Bamboo Chicken Satay ( priced at $10), Duck Duo ( priced at $12) and Andouille stuffed double Pork Chop ( priced at $26). Pork chop was definitely my favourite. It was served with mashed potatoes and roasted poblano pepper creamed corn and was simply delicious. I wasn't really impressed by two tapas: Tandoori Bamboo Chicken Satay ( which was supposed to be served with spicy tomato chickpeas and mango yogurt but chickpeas were bland and even chicken lacked flavour) and Duck Duo(BBQ duck ravioli and chopstick spring rolls in tamarind duck jus) . Tamarind Duck jus did not have any taste and was just like water.

The dinner entrees at Wild apple Grill are priced from $18-$34 and after entrees and a dessert, you can add a finishing touch to your meal by ordering a cup of Manteo Magic.

Monthly menu features at the Wild Apple Grill include specially prepared dishes to accompany the wines from a specific Okanagan winery. The 85-seat restaurant features a custom-designed, open-concept kitchen where Foerderer’s talented team performs their cooking magic amid expansive 180-degree views of Okanagan Lake. The comprehensive breakfast menu features traditional favourites like the Continental, Eggs Benedict, Buttermilk Pancakes and thick-slice French toast. Guests can choose unique items like Veggie Frittata with sautéed mushrooms and grilled red pepper, or a warm flour tortilla stuffed with ham, scrambled eggs, lettuce, tomato, aged cheddar and sour cream.

For lunch, the Wild Apple Grill offers specialty items like Crab Ravioli, Grilled Vegetable and Garlic Quesadilla and a Chicken Club Sandwich. Alternatively, "lunch-sized" Salmon, Fall off the Bone BBQ Ribs and New York Steak entrées are certain to satisfy. The restaurant also offers an impressive list of signature soups and salads. Appetizers are as tempting as entrées at dinnertime. Manteo Resort guests have an astounding array of palate-pleasing choices, and all can be accompanied with fine Okanagan and imported wines. The entrées range from Prawn & Scallop Stirfry with sesame ginger sauce, to Baked Salmon with Red Thai Curry Sauce, Grilled New York Steak or Herb Crusted Chicken with Roma Tomato Confit.

Next to the restaurant, guests can relax in the "comfy lounge" for cocktails accompanied by selections from a mouth-watering lounge and tapas menu that has offerings like Creamy Warm Crab Dip, Thai Steamed Green Lip Mussels and Chicken Skewers.
