A Road trip from Kelowna to Seattle

Yesterday evening I decided to take a little road trip from Kelowna to Seattle and here I am in Seattle today to watch Seattle Mariners take on Toronto's Blue Jays at Safeco Field.

The trip from Kelowna to Seattle is only about five hours and it may take about half an hour at the border where you will have to be ready to answer all those questions that security officer asks you like: Do you have tobacco? Where are you going? Where will you be staying? What do you do in Kelowna?

I was surprised to see that Gas prices were much lower in Sumas which is just across the border from Canada. People moving to and fro from the border are usually concerned about gas prices. One of the U. S. residents who was going to Vancouver actually asked us, if he was better off filling gas in Canada and our answer was pretty straightforward: No buddy, fill up your gas tank before you go across.

If you are driving from Kelowna to Seattle, this is the route that you should take:

Kelowna>>Merritt>>Chilliwack>>Abbotsford>> Sumas USA>>Seattle

The total distance is about 500 Kms and if the road conditions are good and you are a fast driver, you might be able to make it in 4.5 hrs.

Heya! That route seems a little shorter than I remember? I thought it was more like 6-7 hours? And when was this article written? I googled for it. Thanks in advance!
