Book Launch - So Far From Home

On Saturday, November 1st 2008, author Leonard Gamble will launch his new book 'So Far From Home' at Okanagan Military Museum. The event is scheduled from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm . There will be a presentation about the book at about 1.00 pm.

Gamble's book tells the story of the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF) in the Great War of 1914-1918. Each installment of the story of the CEF is followed by the individual stories of those men from the Armstrong area who died during that time period. The Canadian Expeditionary Force was comprised of over 600,000 service men from across Canada, including over 300 men from the Armstrong area, at least sixty of whom died during the war.

Admission to the museum is by donation and book can be purchased for $25.00. If you know someone who is interested in war time stories then this book will make a great Christmas gift. For more information, call: 250-763-9292.
