Christmas Fair and Craft Sales in Kelowna

There are so many Christmas fairs and craft sales being held around town this weekend that I am thinking of skipping mall this year and supporting local artisans and charities. However, so many options are confusing me. Well, may be I will stop by at a few.

1. 29th Annual Christmas Faire at Kelowna Waldorf School will be held on Saturday November 20th,2010 from 10 am to 3 pm. If you enjoy home made baking, crafts and toys, then this is the event for you. Bring the children and take part in several kid activities.

2. Dorchester Christmas Craft Sale will be held at Dorchester Retirement Residence (863 Leon Avenue, Kelowna) on November 20th from 10 am to 3 pm. The admission to this craft sale is free but non perishable food donations will be accepted for Kelowna Community Food Bank. This sale will offer over 30 local crafters and artisans with large variety of handmade items including baking, quilting, cards, candles, soap, needle work, knitting, Christmas ornaments etc.

3. Crafting for a Cause & KDSCL Annual Bake Sale will be held at The Abbey 228- Valley Road, Kelowna on November 20th starting 10.00 am. This huge craft and bake sale is held in support of Kelowna District Society for Community Living which is a non profit organization that provides services to people with developmental disabilities and their families.

4. Treasures, Crafts, Novelty, Books, Jewellery and baked goods - it will all be there. I am talking about Treasures & Craft Sale which will be held at St. Aidan's Anglican Church (located on 380 Leathead Road) on November 20th starting 9.00 am until 2.00 pm.

5. The annual Benvoulin Heritage Church craft show will run on Sunday, November 21st from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm (at 2279 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna.) This craft show is different than the others because in this one numerous local crafters and artisans display their wares in a unique heritage atmosphere in a Storefront setting with a one-shop-one pay venue. Customers can expect to see papercrafts, woodcrafts, variety of ornaments, antique furniture, pet treats and accessories etc.

So, take your pick and enjoy shopping this weekend.
