Delta Takes over The Grand

One of the most beautiful Hotels of Kelowna - The Grand has been taken over by Delta Hotels for $131 million.

The Grand Okanagan Lakefront Resort and Conference Centre has been a popular choice of tourists over the years and hopefully with Delta name attached to it will draw more crowds. Delta had been planning to enter the interior of British Columbia for long time and I guess this deal will prove to be a golden goose for them. This will be the seventh Delta Hotel in British columbia.

Kelowna has been identified as a strategic market for Delta's expansion effort," said Gordon Johnson, Regional Vice President, B.C. Region, Delta Hotels. "B.C. is a thriving travel market. We will have two major openings in the second half of 2008, the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort and the Delta Burnaby. Both properties are in areas that are experiencing rapid growth, and we want to be able to offer our guests an option to stay with Delta when they travel to either region.
