Event of the week

Kelowna residents are always a step ahead than their counterparts when it comes to promoting a healthy lifestyle and pollution free environment. A perfect example of this is 'Bike to Work' week which is being celebrated from April 29th to May 5th 2007. The basic purpose of this event is to promote cycle commuting and to help people realize the benefits of biking.
I am expecting to see a lot of bikers on the road while i get a ride from my husband to work next week. What makes this event all the more exciting is the creation of a supportive team atmosphere and loads of fun prizes to be won.

Many companies and organizations have come forward to participate in this event and to make it a success. Okanagan college has about 700 participants followed by UBC Okanagan with about 500. Some smaller organizations have also shown their enthusiasm and have come forward with fewer participants like as low as 1 or 2 employees.
