Federal Funding to Green Technologies Research Project

Isn't it exciting that despite our economic woes, the federal government has decided to provide half of a $1 million to green technologies research project which will be conducted by the Okanagan Science and Technology Council and Okanagan College right here in Kelowna.

The developments of this project will be shared and implemented on a global scale. The long-term goal of the project is to develop buildings that generate more energy than they consume, purify more water than they use, and absorb more greenhouse gases than they emit. The reduction of energy consumption will not only be better for our environment but also a positive experience for consumers.

Although the project does seem a little far-fetched, it is not impossible for the scientists to reach their goals especially with the support from federal government. Let's hope for the success of this project for the well being of the whole human race.
