Get ready to attend Okanagan's Fall Wine Festival

The countdown has begun for Okanagan's fall wine Festival which is scheduled this year from October 1st to 11th 2009. I am sure like last few years, this year's Fall wine festival (29th annual) is going to be a huge success. Afterall, Okanagan's Fall Wine Festival is the only major wine festival in North America that takes place during the grape harvest.

The Okanagan Wine Festival society is frantically preparing for this 10 day event which will feature about 150 different events ranging from wine tastings, gourmet dinners, music and arts to wine education seminars. Over 90 Okanagan wineries are participating in this year's Fall Wine Festival. In 2008, our wine festival attracted 195,000 visits and over $4.7 million during the Fall Wine Festival and organizers are aiming to beat this in 2009.

The main highlight to kick off the opening weekend of the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival is hugely popular WestJet Wine Tastings which is being presented by Valley First Credit Union. These will take place on Friday, October 2nd 2009 and Saturday, October 3rd 2009 at the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort Hotel in Kelowna, B.C.
