I love Kelowna and probably would want to live here for another 25 years but growing Kelowna population, traffic, high rise buildings make me rethink my decision. Who knows how Kelowna will be in 2030? Well, it's upto the Kelowna residents to make sure that Kelowna will still be greener in 2030.
City of Kelowna , as part of a new public planning program called Kelowna 2030: Greening Our Future, is looking for input from a wide range of citizens and groups. This is our chance to make ourselves heard. The end result will be a revised Official Community Plan that will guide land use, development, transportation and infrastructure decisions for the next twenty years. Now, Isn't that comforting that someone is ready to hear us.

The recent development of the roads in Glenmore has created a lot of confusion with addresses. Part of the confusion was addressed by changing part of the road connecting Clement to Clifton from Skyline to be also called Clifton. Now, the confusion is still in having two Clifton Roads, one coming off of High Road and the other which is the continuation of High Road from Clement. Another confusion is to have the same road having two names (part of the road is called High, the other Clifton). I remember many years ago when Gordon Drive had 3-4 different names (Gordon, Glenmore, etc.). When the city opened the section between KLO and Mission, for a while, those names still carried. Then, all those names were changed to Gordon Drive. Maybe the same thing can be done for Clifton, so that it starts from Clement and goes up. The part of Clifton Road that is coming off High Road and is closed at the end, can be called either Clifton cul-de-sac or Clifton Place.
I also have another question. Is the City of Kelowna or the BC Government responsible for the maintenance of the Glenmore Road North going to Winfield?
Thank you for your kind attention and I would appreciate it if you would respond to my question about the Glenmore Road North.
Best regards,
Ninous Ashraf
