Kelowna Walks for MS

Walk-for- MS.jpg

Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada has been working persistently in communities across Canada, with the help of volunteers and staff to provide information, support, educational events and other resources for people with MS and their families. MS is a chronic, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that can cause loss of balance, impaired speech, extreme fatigue, double vision and paralysis. It is really sad that 55,000-75,000 Canadians are living with MS and everyday, three more Canadians are diagonosed with this disease.

The Super Cities WALK is the MS Society’s largest event fundraiser involving over 70,000 participants and volunteers in more than 160 communities across Canada in the spring and early fall.

On April 27th, 2008 which is a Sunday, Kelowna residents will walk for MS. You can walk, run or roll on your own or share the experience and be part of a fundraising team. The walk will start at Kelowna City Park located in downtown Kelowna. You can choose a 1 km, 3 km or 6 km route (all wheelchair/scooter accessible). Inline skaters are also welcome.
