Kelowna's Initiative against smoking

The other day, I was having a conversation with a friend and I asked her, '' What is one thing you would like to change about yourself ?" She said, " Aditi, If I could pick one of my behaviors to change, it would be smoking." We all know smoking is injurious to health and to quit smoking can be really challenging.

The Kelowna Respiratory Club invites smokers and their families/ friends to come and learn simple strategies to become an ex smoker. The seminar ' Helping smokers become ex- smokers' will be held on Oct 25th 2007 at Ramada Hotel (2170 Harvey Avenue, Oak Room) at 6.30 pm.

This initiative is made possible through an educational grant from Pfizer Canada Inc. Speakers for this one hour session will be: Dr. Christopher Cunningham (C.C. F.P., Family Practice) and Todd Gale (Community Respiratory therapist)

Topics of the discussion will be:
1. Is smoking an addiction or a habit
2. Are there safe, effective treatments to help you quit smoking?
3. What will you gain by quitting and what can you lose if you don't?

If you want to register for this seminar call: 1-877-888-8334. Seating is limited so hurry and take the initiative to add healthy productive days to each year of your life.
