Lake Tai - Kelowna Vegetarian at it's Best!

Its a new year and a time to make some new resolutions. A friend of mine has made a resolution to turn vegetarian this year and she took me to an exclusive vegetarian restaurant located in the heart of Kelowna called Lake Tai. This restaurant was voted as the third best Vegetarian restaurant in the central Okanagan by 13th annual Okanagan Life Best Restaurants readers' poll.

Lake Tai is located on 101-3013 Pandosy Street, Kelowna. British Columbia. V1Y 1W2 Ph: 250-860-1588. It is open 7 days a week and has a good a selection of vegetarian meat dishes and exotic teas. There bubble tea is quite refreshing and you should definitely give it a try before starting with the main course. I tried Spring rolls, sweet and sour pork and fried rice- noodle dish and all the dishes were satisfying. Don't wait for a dessert menu after the end of your meal because they don't have one but I am sure you will relish their in-house Lake Tai special dessert which is complimentary after the dinner.

Does anyone know what's happening with this restaurant since it had to close? Are they reopening somewhere else? I miss it! Being vegan, it was by far the best place to eat. Kelowna's not very vegan friendly for eating out.

My husband and I love this restaurant. However, their lease was up and the building along with several other businesses have been pulled down to accomodate a new development. Lake Tai's owner's took our email address and told us they would inform us when their business opens in a new location. We are waiting in anticipation of the event. These people are far too good to lose, we trust they will find a suitable new location very soon.
