There has been an endless debate for a long time whether Kelowna's westside known as Westbank should be made part of Kelowna or not?

Although many residents of the west side were against incorporation, the result of the votes last week are out and those who voted against amalgmation with Kelowna city won. The option to create a new municipality was supported by 51 per cent of voters, while 48 per cent favoured becoming part of Kelowna.
