Okanagan International Film Festival 2010

Okanagan International Film Festival 2010 will be held in Kelowna at various venues from July 21st to 25th. During these five days, the film enthusiasts can view world class movies with thought provoking themes and different perspectives on life. The force behind the festival, the Okanagan Film Festival Society was founded in 1998. It is a not for profit charitable organization, whose mission is to educate and promote the Canadian and International film industry through film screenings, competitions and professional industry workshops and forums.

An Opening Gala for the Okanagan International Film Festival will be held in Kelowna Community Theatre, and a separate VIP Party will be July 24 in the Mon Reposa Luxury Penthouse. Some of the best festival deals include: $175 VIP pass/person which will give guests access to all screenings, workshops and afterparties, Festival pass for $50 or Student pass for $35. The organizers this year open the festival with the world premier of Beast of the Bottomless Lake, a feature length comedy starring Stargate's David Nykl, which was shot in Kelowna and the surrounding areas. With this, and the comedy western Gunless starring Paul Gross, which was partly shot in Osoyoos, BC, closing the festival, the Okanagan has a strong presence this year.
