Project Literacy Kelowna Society

Yesterday was International Literacy day and over the last few decades, world has realised that to achieve world literacy, efforts need to be made at all levels- locally, nationally and Internationally.

Project Literacy Kelowna Society has been working since 1986 as a non profit, independent community-based literacy organization offering one-to-one tutoring to adults who face literacy challenges. It is located on: 205-591 Bernard Avenue,Kelowna BC V1Y 6N9

It received the Canada Post Literacy Award for Community Leadership in 2006. The mission of this society is:

To help adults achieve their full potential at work, home and in the community through free individualized literacy instruction.

Project Literacy Kelowna Society had invited the entire society to the celebration of International Literacy Day via a thirty-foot banner strung across one of the major downtown arteries. The public awareness wing of the society had planned numerous activities for the day and everything went very well.

Kudos to dedicated volunteers, tutors and the learners who work hard to overcome challenges in order to achieve the literacy goals. You can help this organization too. Visit: Project Literacy Kelowna Society
