Strong Bones Walk

Kelowna Chapter ( part of Osteoporosis Canada) is presenting- The 6th annual Paragon Community Pharmacy Strong Bones Walk on Sunday , April 27th 2008.

Kelowna Chapter is one of the four chapters in British Columbia and works in conjunction with a Division office in Vancouver.

The British Columbia Division embraces the mission statement of the Osteoporosis Canada by providing the following to the residents of British Columbia:

Information and educational materials through telephone contact, mail, public meetings, health fairs and community functions

Prevention programs and self-management programs in English and Chinese

Speakers, slides and videotapes as requested by groups and associations

Assistance in chapter development

Personal contact and counseling services for those seeking assistance

Advocacy

Resource library for members use

Links to partners in the community

This 'Strong Bones Walk event' is aimed at raising money to help support people in our local community with Osteoporosis. The highlights of the program include: a fun walk ( about 1 to 5 km) along the Boardwalk and through City Park (beside Okanagan Lake), lots of great prizes, free lunch and an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those affected by osteoporosis.

Registration for the event will start on Sunday, April 27th at Water Street Senior Centre at 9.00 am and walk will start at 9.30 am.
