I remember as a kid, I used to love summer camps and used to look forward to summers so that I could attend a summer camp program, meet new people and just have fun! I believe, summer camps are a healthy way for kids to meet different people, develop new skills and learn to take on new challenges in life.
Sports and Recreation Kelowna organizes a variety of summer camps for children of all age groups. Most of these camps are organized by the Parkinson Recreation centre located at 1800 Parkinson Way, off Highway 97 or Spall Road. Parkinson Recreation Centre is not only a favourite place of sports enthusiasts but can also be used to host events like weddings, conferences, meetings and dinner parties.
Summer camps for children can be a day long, week long or may last for couple of months. Prices and fees for these camps also vary depending on the duration and purpose of the camp. If you are unsure of the activity that your kids might be interested in, you can try a drop-in program before enrolling your kids full-time. Different camps and programs that can be chosen include: Science camps, Exclusive girls camp, Dance camps, Equestrian, aquatic and other sport camps.
These summer camps are an opportunity for the parents to let the kids channelize their energy in the right direction and inculcating in them the desire for an active lifestyle. The goal of these camps is to provide kids with the environment in which they can develop social skills, self-esteem and of course friendships.
