The Kidney Foundation of Canada’s Give the Gift of Life Walk

Kidney Foundation Canada.jpg

Tomorrow, November 16th 2008, 'Give the Gift of Life Walk' event is taking place in communities across BC which is basically a fundraising event geared towards raising awareness about the importance of Organ Donation. In Kelowna, the walk will start at KSS School (located on Raymer Road) around 11.00 am.

All Kelowna residents are encouraged to join the organizers for a fun-filled afternoon that will include entertainment, refreshments, prizes and the opportunity to sign up to be an organ donor. Don't worry if you are not much of a walker because you can decide the length of walk according to your ability (1-3 km or 15min-90 min).

There are plenty of ways in which you can participate in this fundraiser. You can create a team of Walkers, sponsor a walker or team, sign-up to be an organ donor, get information on living donor transplants or be a volunteer to help during the event.

Interested in participating, contact: Kelowna Walk Coordinator, Sarah DeFrancesco at 250-763-8070. For more information, visit: Kidney.bc.ca
