The Wakefest, celebrated in Kelowna in July, British Columbia is a popular sporting event among young people in North America. Although Wakefest was banned in Kelowna in 2008, it looks like it might be returning to Kelowna in 2009. If organizers of Wakefest agree to a series of conditions set out by Kelowna’s Outdoor Events Committee then we might get to enjoy Wakefest again this year.
If you love wake boarding then do participate in this sporting event but please be responsible and avoid excessive drinking, public rowdiness and display of nudity. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for a wonderful event.

Im crossing my fingers and toes, this event is what kelowna as a city needs, it shows amazing talents and brings in awesome tourists. that being said before i get slammed by the protesters of this event, there was one bad year of wakefest, all the other years since i was 17, were awesome. so i agree bring it back. beef up the security and have a limit on people, just like merrit mountain fest. if there are any commitee members that read this, hear this from someone who appreciates city events whether its a parade or a fundraiser.. community involvement is what makes cities and towns strong with friendships.
Cheers:
Loury.
