Walk to Cure Diabetes

TELUS_JDRF_EN_small.jpg

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in partnership with Telus is organizing ' Telus Walk to Cure Diabetes' in over 60 locations in Canada. In Kelowna, 'Walk to Cure Diabetes' will take place on June 8th 2008, Sunday at Mission Creek Park(located on 2663 Springfield Road). The pledge drop off is from 8.30 am to 10.30 am and opening ceremony will be at 10.30 am.

The TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes is Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s most powerful fundraising engine attracting over 45,000 Canadians every year who are just as dedicated as we are to find a cure for diabetes. In 2007, $6.5M was raised and goal for 2008 is over $7M. TELUS joins JDRF’s mission with a multi-year $1.2 million partnership to fund Canadian researchers and a cure for juvenile (Type 1) diabetes. The impact of TELUS’ commitment is significant as JDRF aims to accelerate the pace of research.

This event provides an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about juvenile (Type 1) diabetes, raise much needed funds to continue essential JDRF funded research programs and is a great way for corporations and families to get out for a day of fun and fitness

For pledge forms, to volunteer or further information call Miriam at Tel: 250-860-5304 or email : Kelowna@jdrf.ca
